Mary Ana Farina won gold in the 100 m backstroke, the athletes of the Center won five Olympic medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze) in the Petiz 2 category
Mary Ana Farina and Bruno Tomiyama Suzuki of New Cielos from the Olympic Training Center and Research (COTP), São Paulo, stood out in the Petiz 2 category for swimmers under 12 years, at the XLVI Festival CBDA/Correios Sudeste de Clubes Mirim e Petiz de Natação, the Ivo Lourenço Trophy, held at Clube de Natação e Regatas Álvares Cabral in Vitória, Espírito Santo.
The Petiz 1 (11 years) and Petiz 2 (12 years) categories gathered 376 athletes from 34 clubs. The New Cielos from the Olympic Center enteredthe competition with six swimmers and brought home five medals (1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze, plus a fourth and a sixth positions) in disputes held from 17 to 20 October.
Mary Ana Farina (Petiz 2) won gold in the 100 m backstroke (1min14s38), bronze in the 200 m individual medley (2min41s97) and the 100 m breaststroke (1min22s98). Bruno Tomiyama Suzuki (Petiz 2), won a silver medal in the 100 m butterfly (1min07s78), bronze in the 200 m individual medley (2min31s03) and was fifth in the 400 m freestyle.
The 4×50 m freestyle relay got the fifth position with Peter Cataldi Gueiros, Rodrigo Ferreira Martins, Guilherme Marques dos Santos and Yuko Suzuki Bruno (2min04s30). Guilherme dos Santos was fourth in the 100 m butterfly and Peter Gueiros sixth in the 200 m medley.
